About Us

Our endeavor began in May 2006 as an idea between Michael Silvius and Robert Polly to create a new type of Aircraft Maintenance business based on real world experiences that would focus on the customer and their requests, time constraints, and value of a job done right the first time. After seeing the incredible growth of the Tunica Mississippi Airport and the entire Mid-South region, Tunica Airport (KUTA) was found to be ideal for this new venture.
Michael Silvius presented their business plan to the Tunica Airport Commission, Cliff Nash, executive director of the airport, said "it's the best he'd seen". Following conceptual approval, Michael Silvius and Robert Polly began to invite hand picked highly experienced maintenance professionals to join them in establishing and launching the endeavor. In September 2006, Tunica Air Group, LLC. began offering maintenance services to aircraft at the Tunica Airport (KUTA) with 6 mechanics working out of the pilot's lounge. Since then, the company has grown to 16 employees utilizing a 20,000 sq/ft hangar at Tunica Airport and a 16,000 sq/ft hangar at the world renown Wilson Air Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

The labor force has an average of 18 years aircraft experience per Aircraft Maintenance Technician covering all facets of aviation from flight school line maintenance to 747 heavy checks and helicopter total restoration.  A diverse background that includes avionics, sheet metal, composites, and engine shop experience ensures that any job presented to Tunica Air Group, LLC.  can be handled with confidence.  Roughly 75% of our employees served proudly in the Armed Forces with every branch being represented.  Several still serve on local air show committees and with Angel Flight volunteers. Our Director of Maintenance John T. Loy was President of the Memphis Belle Restoration Society prior to the Air Force repositioning the historical bomber to Ohio.
